Watch a City Breathe: Traffic Intelligence Comes to Scribble Maps

Every road has a rhythm. Quiet at 4 AM, packed by 8, steady through the afternoon, then the evening rush. Knowing that rhythm can decide where a shop opens, where a billboard goes, or when a crew heads out. But traffic data has mostly lived in government spreadsheets and expensive data contracts built for large companies.
Today that changes. The new Traffic Intelligence kit colors every road in the USA and Canada by how many vehicles use it on a typical day. Press play, and you watch a whole day of traffic move across the map.
Powerful data for everyone
Our mission at Scribble Maps is to make mapping accessible, and to give everyday businesses and individuals the same powerful data that used to be reserved for organizations with big budgets and GIS teams. A coffee shop owner choosing a second location deserves the same traffic insight as a national retail chain. A small sign company deserves the same corridor data as a media giant.
That is why Traffic Intelligence is not a separate data contract or an add-on fee. It is included in Pro Business, alongside every other Scribble Maps kit, for $90 a month billed yearly, or $100 a month month to month. And you can try it risk free for 7 days.
What you get
- Daily traffic on every road. Roads are colored by AADT (Annual Average Daily Traffic), from green quiet streets under 1,000 vehicles a day to deep red highways over 75,000.
- A 24-hour simulation. Drag the hour slider or press Play 24h Sim to see rush hours build and fade. Switch between Weekday and Weekend, because Saturday traffic looks nothing like Tuesday's.
- A traffic report for any road. Click a street to see its daily volume, weekday and weekend traffic, truck share, peak hour, and peak volume.
- Honest numbers. Each report says whether its number is an official count or an estimate. Estimates come with a range, a reliability grade, and an expected error, so you know how far to trust them.
- Roads you can keep. Click Add Line To Map to save a road as a line with its traffic data. Style it, share it, and export it with the rest of your map.

Who it is for
- Small businesses and retail: compare how many cars pass each site you are looking at before you sign a lease.
- Real estate: show buyers and tenants the traffic a property really sees.
- Signs and outdoor advertising: find the corridors with the most eyes on them, and when.
- Planners and engineers: see where volume piles up and how it changes through the day.
- Field teams and delivery: plan routes and visits around the busy hours.
